Case Study: Who Gives a Crap

Who Gives a Crap is a company dedicated to the cause of improving sanitation around the world. The three co-founders had learned that over 2 billion people do not have access to a toilet, so they set out to change that. Together they devised a toilet paper business to help solve this sanitation need, and the company got it’s start through a crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo – raising over $50,000 and launching in March 2013.

Around 289,000 children under five die every year from diarrheal diseases caused by poor water and sanitation. That’s almost 800 children per day, or one child every two minutes.

The toilet paper itself comes in two eco-friendly options – 100% recycled paper or 100% bamboo.

Their product line has now expanded beyond toilet paper to include tissues, paper towels, and paper towel alternative ‘cloud cloths.’

Restocking is simple with their option to subscribe to regular shipments, so you never run out of environmentally conscious, sanitation-supporting paper products.

Toilets have saved more lives than any other modern invention.
